A God Moment
January 31, 2017
My wife, Jan, and I have been blessed to meet and worship with a Lutheran family from India. Our paths have crossed many times this past year. This family and their Indian community have brought us into their lives. Oh the things we learn from those from afar! Continue reading
Do You Have An Answer?
January 25, 2017
I didn’t have an answer! It was an all too common belief about all this “Jesus stuff” that my distant uncle confronted me with: “The Bible’s accounts of Jesus are just made up stories and myths. How can we trust the New Testament writings when they have been copied and re-copied, translated multiple times; and, we can’t even know for sure that they were really written by anyone who even knew Jesus.” I didn’t have an answer! I’m not a big new year’s resolution guy. I’m resolving things all the time in my life. I don’t need a new calendar year to help me resolve to lose weight, eat healthier and spend more time with my family and in God’s Word. This is a daily resolution that daily must be evaluated. I pray Jesus gives you new eyes to see new beginnings each day because of His mercy and grace. Let me know your resolutions, and I will pray for you. Continue reading
Christmastime!! Remember the King!
December 27, 2016
Here we are in the days after Christmas! Let the rejoicing begin, the King is come! Our days of waiting in Advent are over and here we are in a time already forgotten by many - Christmastime! We often pack up the holiday right away. Maybe we leave the lights up on the house for a little longer…like July…because they just look good right? Take a moment, sit back, and remember the King this Christmas. Continue reading
Show Up
December 19, 2016
Skip out or show up? Those that skip out, miss out. They miss out on the joy of their children’s first steps, family dinners, God’s presence in worship, and unexpected life changing moments put in place by the Father of all things. Continue reading
Hope in Chaos
December 7, 2016
Have you ever had “one of those days?” Everything is pure chaos. The kids are going crazy. Your friend’s marriage is falling apart. Meetings just keep piling up. You are struggling to make ends meet, and you’ve got more Christmas gifts to buy. There is more to be done than you could possibly ever do. Chaos. Pure chaos. Continue reading
Advent is…
November 28, 2016
Advent is…here! But what is “Advent”? The word “Advent” is from the Latin “Adventus,” which means, “coming.” Advent is a time to celebrate the coming of the new Star Wars movie? No. Advent is the time of the return of Elf on a Shelf? No. Advent is the return of holiday shopping? No. All these things do come back around this time of year but for Christians, Advent is a season to focus on the coming of Jesus. Continue reading
