La Mesa

Need some R & R?

Come to La Mesa to RECEIVE the Word and then RESPOND in service to Jesus

Be Fed

Colossians 3:11, “Here there is no Gentile or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all.”

La Mesa is a church out of a cafeteria where all people in attendance are invited to enter into mutually beneficial relationships as they eat and worship together. La Mesa is Spanish for “the Table”. La Mesa begins with a meal at 6:00 p.m. and the worship with the Lord’s Supper at 6:30 p.m. If you can’t stay for the meal, no problem, stay as long as you would like.
Take a seat at La Mesa with Jesus:

When:  6:00 p.m. (meal) and 6:30 p.m. (worship), every Tuesday.

Where:  First Christian Church in Mesa, 805 N. Country Club (between University & Brown), Mesa, AZ 85201

What:   Be prepared to sit down for a home-cooked meal with people whose personal journeys may or may not be different from your own, families and individuals who are struggling to make ends meet, the working poor and the short- or long-term homeless. We have this in common: We are all God’s children and are loved very dearly by our Heavenly Father. You will have the opportunity to listen to a message from Vicar Jake and hear music, occasionally in Spanish. We will take communion together and pray together. The atmosphere will be very casual – come as you are!

How to volunteer for La Mesa:

Can you chop vegetables, make lemonade or serve meals?

Can you set tables and chairs, mop floors or take out the trash?

Can you play an instrument or sing?

Can you read Bible stories to or play games with children?

If you can say yes to any of these important jobs, please contact Betty Brennan at bbrennan@cglchurch.org. Most of all, La Mesa will benefit from your prayers!

Check out the La Mesa cards at the information booth outside the sanctuary – learn more and sign up!
