Title:  Parish Receptionist
Reports to: Business Manager
Function: Administrative Support
Staffing Requirements: Part-time

Purpose:

The primary purpose of the Parish Receptionist is to proactively welcome and assist guests with a warm and welcoming spirit that will leave a positive and lasting impression of the entire ministry. The secondary purpose is to assist Ministry and Operations staff with various transactional work assignments and projects.

 

Qualifications & Required Skills:

  • Must be a member in good standing of CGLCS or a sister congregation
  • Able to work effectively in a team setting and take directions
  • Able to sit for at least one hour at a time without a break
  • Fluently speak and write English clearly
  • Hear spoken words over the telephone and in person when spoken to.
  • Lift packages weighing up 25 pounds without assistance
  • Able to pass state mandated fingerprinting, criminal background checks and drug screening
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Effective multi-tasking (handling more than one assigned project or task at a time)
  • Basic computer knowledge such as email, calendaring, word processing, slides and data entry

 

Responsibilities:

Professionalism

  • Be a Christian role model in attitude, speech and actions toward others
  • Maintain prompt hours and notify the Business Manager in the event of illness or necessary absence
  • Maintain a professional appearance

Guest Hospitality

  • Promote the 3E Journey statement of Christ’s Greenfield Lutheran Church and School
  • Welcome guests in person or by phone and care for their needs while maintaining a courteous and caring demeanor

Process Inquiries

  • Receive all parish in-coming calls to the campus and direct them as needed
  • Answer routine and common questions about the church and school ministry
  • Politely redirect non-routine and uncommon questions to others
  • Take messages and relay them to intended recipient

Administrative Support

  • Sells tickets for various church and school events to guests in the parish office
  • Support basic administrative support tasks as requested by Ministry and Operations staff including but not limited to: scheduling meetings, data entry, basic reports, proofreading, media edits / processing, receiving / sending mail, copying, printing, and faxing
  • Fulfill other related duties as assigned by the Business Manager, Pastors, Vicars and other ministry or operations staff
