How Long, Oh Lord?

April 8, 2018 Speaker: Vicar Brian Muldowney Series: Surprised by Hope

Topic: Surprised by Hope Passage: Matthew 24:3–24:14

For the week after Easter, this question may seem a bit of a downer. But after basking in the love that Jesus has for us, we walk out of church Easter Sunday and are confronted with reality. We are living in a sinful fallen world, waiting for Jesus to come back. So, when life gets real, we often ask God that question: “How long until you come back, Jesus?” Jesus gives us a clear answer in Matthew 24:3-14. He is coming back when the Gospel is preached to all the world. A vague answer to be sure, but one that can give us hope. A hope that doesn't let us be overwhelmed when life gets worse and worse. The Risen Jesus gives us forgiveness, hope, and a command to tell others about Him. A command that protects us from sitting back and just waiting for Jesus to come back.
